Self-Contained Spaces

September 22, 2011

“Self Contained Spaces” is partly inspired by an article of a woman who locked herself in her ex-boyfriends’ bathroom for two years. As she sat on the toilet, her skin fused to the seat. Emergency services were forced to take the woman to the hospital with the seat still attached to her body.

“Self Contained Spaces” explores our surrounding environment and the relationships between confined spaces and ourselves. Audiences are taken on a self guided tour, confronted by four black human sized boxes, each containing a woman undergoing various stages of metamorphosis.

I was responsible for the sound design and composition.
